Why work with a college coach?
Many high schools offer support with college applications, but it is typically limited and not as personalized. The average counselor to student ratio in the US is 250 to 1, and even at highly resourced schools, counselors rarely work one-on-one with students. Parents can step in and help, but they often lack the specific expertise to give individualized, strategic support to maximize students’ chances of admission. Plus, it can get tense. Working with Big World addresses all of these challenges by providing objective, expert help based in years of experience, and timeline management that eliminates last-minute procrastination panic.
Why us?
At Big World, we prioritize finding the student’s best-fit schools, keeping an open mind, and helping our students apply to a wide range of universities.
Our students’ academic and personal goals come first; we don’t focus only on big-name institutions.
We want to emphasize that college is for everyone, and we want our students to succeed and reach their full academic potential.
What our students are saying
“Working with Heather made what initially felt overwhelming feel manageable. She was always patient, thoughtful, and encouraging, while being honest and direct with her feedback, pushing me to strengthen my writing and think more deeply while still respecting my voice. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to truly listen and help you tell your story in an authentic and compelling way.”
Jimena C., San Diego, California

“Heather gave me great feedback, answered all my questions in a clear and understandable way, and took the time to get to know me during our weekly meetings. She listened to my ideas and helped me turn them into essay topics, and helped me stay on track.”
